The government has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar details free of charge until June 14, 2024, providing relief to millions of Aadhaar holders. This extension, announced by UIDAI on social media, aims to encourage individuals to keep their Aadhaar documents updated for better service delivery.
Aadhaar, a 12-digit unique identity number, is issued to Indian residents based on their biometric and demographic information. This unique identifier plays a crucial role in preventing duplicate numbers and detecting fake identities, ensuring the integrity of the Aadhaar system.
