The RRR song creates history by becoming the first song from an Indian movie to receive Recognition
The results are in, and Naatu Naatu has WON the 2023 Oscars! The song made history by becoming the first song from an Indian movie to take home the ‘Best Original Song’ Award.This is the third major international recognition for “Nattu Nattu” written by MM Keeravani and composed by Chandra Bose, the world hit. It won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. It also won the Best Song Award at the 28th edition of the Critics’ Choice Awards. Rahul Sipligunj and Keeravani’s son Kala Bhairava have sung the song. The Dolby Theater witnessed the mesmerizing music of Keeravani at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony.
Rajamouli’s own Baahubali witnessed the comeback of Keeravani who announced his retirement in 2014. The songs of the film, which told the story of the Mahishmati Empire, created waves across India just like the film. “RRR” (Rise Roar Revolt), a pre-independence fictional story, tells the story of two Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Kumaram Bheem (Jr NTR). Another history was born when Ramcharan and Jr. NTR’s smash “Naatu Naatu” saw a celebration of vibrant beats and dance. “It was shot outside the Presidential Palace in pre-war Kyiv, Ukraine. Rajamouli had recently revealed in an interview that choreographer Prem Rakshit came up with “over 100 variations” of the song’s famous hook step.
“Jai Ho” from the 2008 British film “Slumdog Millionaire” directed by Danny Boyle had previously made India proud at the Oscars. The first Hindi song to win the Academy Award in the Best Original Score and Original Song categories was composed by AR Rahman and penned by Gulzar.
