How can students prepare for Industry 4.0 and the change in career scenario? Prof. Satyanarayan R. Chakravarthy, Professor, IIT, Madras is talking to channeliam.com.
What typically happens today in a campus is, students learn a lot of things outside of the classroom by themselves and also by preparing to participate in a lot of International competitions as teams typically, when compared to individuals. So when they work in teams that are participating in International competitions, they acquire skill sets that are required for them to get into new kinds of careers. So these are typically coding competitions, it could be business case competitions, or hardware development competitions like autonomous bots which require things like IOT, sensors development. By all these means, they prepare themselves for the new age jobs.
