Vayve Mobility, a Pune-based startup, introduced the prototype of a solar-powered electric vehicle called ‘Eva’ at the Auto Expo 2023. The startup claims Eva to be India’s first solar-powered EV.
This climate-controlled compact car can accommodate two adults and a child and can easily navigate and park. Compatible with android auto/Apple car play, the two-seater car has a six-way adjustable driver seat and a panoramic sunroof. In addition to the battery pack, the smart car has solar panels on its roof. The car is built on Monocoque chassis and comes with an IP68-certified powertrain and safety features such as a driver airbag.
The solar car has a 6kW liquid-cooled PMSM electric motor. Its 14kWh battery pack has active liquid cooling. On a standard house socket, Eva can be charged in four hours. On CCS2, 80 percent of charging will be done in 45 minutes. On a single charge, the Eva solar car can cover 250 km. The electric solar vehicle is expected to reach the market in 2024.
