Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s iconic landmark, celebrates 13 years.
The 838-meter-long tower was built over a period of six years spending 1.5 billion dollars.
Burj Khalifa was designed by American firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architect Adrian Smith.
The design is inspired by the regional desert flower hymenocallis spider lily.
The exteriors of the tower are made of aluminum and glass; it has 24,350 cladding panels and 103,000 square metres of glass.
