In the United Arab Emirates, a new programme was started to support 100 companies in emerging industries.
The initiative, started by the Ministry of Economy and Government Development and the Future Office, aims to support emerging economic sectors that will shape the UAE’s future economy, particularly startups that contribute to the national economy.
By yearly honouring the top 100 startups that improve the competitiveness of the UAE’s future economy, it also recognises the achievements of the private sector as a significant partner in the country’s development.
By utilising the UAE’s digital infrastructure, the programme also seeks to strengthen the UAE’s standing as a leading worldwide hub for innovation, cutting-edge technology, and entrepreneurship.
The project aims to strengthen the role of the private sector and startups in assisting the UAE’s GDP, which experienced an 8.5% growth during the first half of 2022. It also promotes the UAE’s top ranking on global competitiveness indicators in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment attractiveness, among others.
