Have you ever dreamt of replacing desktops with a pair of smart glasses?
Silicon Valley and Kochi-based startup Nimo Planet has created precisely that. Founded by Rohildev in 2017 along with Suneesh Thuluthiyil, the startup is making a new-age computer called ‘Nimo Glass’ for 21st-century professionals. An office space you can carry everywhere.
What is the speciality of Nimo Glass?
It lets users access more than six workspace screens at a time. Each virtual screen will be up to 60 inches wide at a three-meter distance. This concept is made possible by using head-tracking sensors.
The glasses have a custom Android-based OS called Planet OS which is capable of converting existing Android apps into a multi-window experience without causing any changes in the applications. That means Nimo can be integrated into organisations without modifying their existing software system. The Nimo glass has HD-equivalent viewing for each eye, a Qualcomm-based processor, 64 GB storage, and up to 4GB RAM. It also provides WiFi support and Bluetooth connectivity. Nimo also shows the screens of devices like laptops and smartphones.
The glasses cost $699 (Rs 51,199). The team has plans to ship the glasses as early as possible. Before Nimo Planet, Rohildev was the Founder and CEO of Fin Robotics Inc and Suneesh was its Chief Creative Officer.
