To digitise the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Telangana Government has partnered with local search engine provider JustDial. Through this partnership, MSMEs will be able to realise their marketing potential, adapt to digital business practices, and effectively engage with customers.
The two organisations will target MSMEs in a number of cities, including Suryapet, Adilabad, Nizamabad, and others. Additionally, JustDial wants to give MSMEs access to its services like JD Mart, JD Xperts, and JD Pay so they may benefit from a variety of services like an online B2B platform, on-demand home services, and an online payment system for merchants.
The primary goals of this cooperation are to revitalise Telangana’s industrial sector and address the problem of information asymmetry within it.
It is crucial to emphasise that the MSME sector is a significant part of the Indian economy at this point. According to information provided by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Ministry, it contributes roughly 30% to India’s GDP, 45% of India’s exports, and is also the second largest employer of labour in India after agriculture. The crucial part that this industry will play in assisting India’s transition to a $5 trillion economy has frequently been emphasised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
