India and Saudi Arabia embark on a cross-country mission carrying on the wave of a new era of energy diplomacy, the Gujarat coast may soon connect up with the Middle East via deep sea cables, creating a green energy grid.
In order to lay the groundwork for the visit to India by the Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman next month, Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman will spend the entire day on Friday in New Delhi.
Beyond oil exports, informed sources indicated that both sides are likely to spark discussions about an undersea cable for an electrical energy system involving South Asia and the Gulf nations. The two are investigating whether such a mission would be profitable.
