Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, criticised Apple’s iMessage, for lacking compatibility across iPhones and Android smartphones.
He shared a picture of a billboard advertisement from Facebook that makes fun of iMessage restrictions that cause iPhone texts to appear in blue bubbles while Android messages appear in green ones.
Some users have long complained about the bad cross-device messaging experience, the poor quality compressed videos, the absence of read receipts, the issues with group texts, and the improper sending of emojis.
Earlier this year, Google attacked Apple on this subject and dedicated a rare position under its search bar online. According to Google, Apple converts text messages received between iPhones and Android devices into SMS and MMS, two antiquated protocols for exchanging text-only messages between devices.Apple should instead utilise the RCS system, according to Google. Because the technical challenges encourage customers to buy more iPhones, Apple CEO Tim Cook has avoided making iMessage more compatible with Android phones.
