Ratan Tata is known for connecting with aspiring entrepreneurs and guiding them. You might have heard many such stories about him. Here is another one. This time, he helped Pune-based energy distribution startup ‘Repos’. He not only guided the startup but also invested in it two times!
When Aditi Bhosale Walunj, co-founder of Repos, shared the story on LinkedIn, it won many hearts.
Aditi Bhosale Walunj and co-founder Chetan Walunj understood the need for a mentor after starting their company. The only name that came to their mind was Ratan Tata. To meet him, they created a 3D presentation of their idea to change the energy distribution sector and deliver fuel with technical aid to various locations.
People around them said it would be impossible to meet Ratan Tata, but the duo remained determined. They sent him handwritten letters, connected with people, and waited outside his house for 12 hours. Once they returned to the room, they got a call from Ratan Tata at 10 pm.
Aditi says she was nervous at the same time excited to talk to him. Eventually, he asked them to meet him at his residence at 11 am. In the three-hour meeting, Ratan Tata shared his entrepreneurial experience with them. According to Aditi, walking out of his home was like stepping out of a temple. Just imagine her ecstasy!
The company received the first token of investment from Ratan Tata in 2019. The second investment came in April this year.
