Strengthen Angel investor network
‘Ignite 2022′ is an opportunity to connect Kerala startups with investors in Dubai. ‘Ignite 2022′, organized to inspire entrepreneurs in the Middle East to invest in technology ventures and startups, was marked by the participation of entrepreneurs and investors. Ignite aims to form the Angel Investors Network, which includes expatriate entrepreneurs who want to invest in startups. Malayalee entrepreneurs, businessmen and government representatives who have made their mark in various fields were part of the meet. Kerala Startup Mission will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus – Dtec to create new opportunities for startups in Dubai.
Oppurtunities discussed
Ignite is a joint venture between the International Promoters Association (IPA), Kerala Startup Mission, and Malayalee BusinessDotcom, a Malayalam e-commerce online marketing platform. PM Riyas, Director, Kerala Startup Mission, said, “As the time shifts to the Knowledge Economy, there are many opportunities to invest in top startups, including those from Kerala.”
Shilon Sagunan, Chairman, Malabar Angel Network, led a master class on the need for angel investment. Fresh to Home co-founder Matthew Joseph shared with entrepreneurs in Dubai about the challenges of entrepreneurial journey and the changes that technology has made in this area. Ahmed Fasih Akhtar, Chairman, iWire Group, explained the new possibilities in IOT. Shihab, the founder of Survey Sparrow, spoke about his startup journey.
The funding by iWire Global in Foaps, a startup at Kerala Startup Mission was also announced. The pitching by Farmers Fresh Zone, Channeliam.com and Transight also took place at Ignite. IPA Chairman VK Shamsudeen and Kerala Startup Mission representatives Nasif, Rasikh and Jinesh led the programme. The Expo of various companies was showcased with Ignite.
