Indian media veteran Tarun Katial is on a mission to make social media safer for women. Katial has been working on the concept of ‘Eve World’ after his wife was trolled on WhatsApp.
Birth of Eve World
Eve World became a reality in June 2021 as a first-of-its-kind women-only platform. It aims to empower women to express their opinion, create content, form communities without worrying about the consequences.
Katial plans to launch the platform in the US, UK, where female participation in the digital arena is higher. It will be introduced in India, the Middle East and Indonesia initially.
Women-only platform
Eve World is built on a creator partnership, something like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Katial claimed that 70% of its workforce at Eve World are going to be women. The company has also raised capital from Singapore-based Jungle Ventures.
