The ePlane Company, operated by Chennai-based Ubifly Technologies, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Noida International Airport to develop infrastructure and operational systems for electric air taxis and other advanced air mobility services.

The partnership will support the deployment of ePlane’s e200X electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with potential applications including airport-to-airport transfers, intra-city travel and emergency air ambulance services. The agreement covers ground infrastructure, regulatory coordination and operational procedures required to introduce electric aircraft services.
Under the agreement, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, which operates Noida International Airport, will allocate space within the airport premises for proof-of-concept trials, vertiports and charging stations. The airport will also work to align its operating procedures with the requirements of eVTOL services.
The ePlane Company will focus on securing the necessary clearances from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), while continuing the prototyping and flight testing of its e200X aircraft.
The two organisations will jointly engage with aviation regulators, air traffic control authorities and state governments to develop safety frameworks, vertiport management systems and AI-assisted fleet scheduling integrated with smart-city systems.
The agreement follows the public unveiling of the full-scale e200X PT-01 prototype. Ground testing is currently underway, and the partnership aims to develop the required airport infrastructure alongside aircraft development. The company has also indicated that it plans to validate operational models through drone trials before progressing to piloted e200X flights.
Founded in 2019 and incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, The ePlane Company is developing electric aircraft for advanced air mobility. Its e200X has been accepted into the DGCA’s type-certification pipeline, although commercial operations will depend on the required regulatory approvals and certification.
Noida International Airport views the collaboration as part of its broader plan to integrate new transport technologies and strengthen multimodal connectivity across the Delhi-NCR region.
If implemented, the initiative could help establish the infrastructure needed for electric air taxis and emergency aviation services, while supporting the development of India’s emerging advanced air mobility sector.
