Luxembourg-based Innovation Platform Capital (iPC) has proposed investing ₹83,480 crore in Karnataka in three phases, Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil said on Monday.

The company, which has interests in digital infrastructure, renewable energy and green hydrogen, is planning an integrated Bengaluru-Tumakuru green hydrogen and hyperscale data centre platform.
The proposal includes a total data centre IT load of 2,250 MW and green hydrogen capacity of 1,000 MW across three phases.
₹17114 Crore First Phase
The first phase of the project is estimated to require an investment of ₹17,114 crore.
It will include 400 MW of data centre capacity, divided between two campuses of 200 MW each. The phase will also include a 500 MW green hydrogen and power complex.
The company has requested around 1,000 acres of land for the project. Around 400 acres each would be used for the data centres and green power complex, while the remaining 200 acres would provide safety and environmental buffer zones, including a separation area around the hydrogen facility.
Focus on Green Energy and Water Recycling
The proposed project is expected to use around 13 million litres of water per day.
Most of the water would come from treated industrial wastewater or CETP effluent. The company plans to recycle around 80-85% of the water used at the facility.
Limited groundwater through borewells would be kept as a backup source if required.
The investment proposal was discussed during a meeting between Minister M.B. Patil and a high-level iPC delegation led by Gursharan Singh Kundan, Managing Partner and Chairman of iPC Global.
The project is expected to strengthen Karnataka’s position in hyperscale data centres, green hydrogen, renewable energy and digital infrastructure while creating a large integrated technology and clean energy platform in the Bengaluru-Tumakuru region.
