The government has set LPG production targets for major oil refiners, with Reliance Industries receiving the largest quota under the new framework.

The move is aimed at strengthening domestic LPG availability and ensuring adequate supplies amid rising demand for cooking fuel.
The production targets cover major refining companies and are intended to encourage greater domestic production of LPG. Reliance, which operates one of the world’s largest refining complexes at Jamnagar, has been assigned the highest target among the refiners.
The initiative comes as India continues to focus on strengthening energy security and reducing dependence on imported LPG. Greater domestic production could help support supply stability and improve the country’s ability to meet growing household and commercial demand.
The government’s approach also highlights the growing role of private refiners alongside state-run oil companies in ensuring India’s energy needs are met.
