The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express is set to get a major capacity boost, with the number of coaches being increased from eight to 16.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision while responding to a demand raised in the Lok Sabha by Hibi Eden, MP, who had sought an increase in the number of coaches to 20.

Eden has also called for the introduction of another Vande Bharat rake on the corridor during the night, citing the strong demand from commuters.
The proposed expansion is expected to provide additional seating capacity on the busy Ernakulam-Bengaluru route and help accommodate more passengers travelling between Kerala and Bengaluru.
