The 2026 Barclays Private Clients Hurun India Most Valuable Family Businesses List reveals that India’s top 300 family enterprises are now collectively worth ₹138 lakh crore ($1.46 trillion). Together, these business houses account for a significant portion of India’s market capitalization, having added nearly ₹4,076 crore in value every day over the past two years.

The Mukesh Ambani-led family business (Reliance Industries) retained its position as India’s most valuable family business for the third consecutive year, commanding a valuation of ₹25.82 lakh crore. The Kumar Mangalam Birla family secured the second spot, with its valuation rising 26% to ₹8.14 lakh crore, while the Sajjan Jindal-led family climbed to third place, growing 40% to reach ₹8.02 lakh crore. The Bajaj family (₹7.7 lakh crore) and the Mahindra family (₹5.15 lakh crore) rounded out the top five established family conglomerates.
In the first-generation family business category, the Gautam Adani-led family topped the list with a valuation of ₹19.6 lakh crore across its diversified operations. Sunil Bharti Mittal’s family (Bharti Airtel) ranked second among first-generation fortunes at ₹12.1 lakh crore, followed by Dilip Shanghvi’s family (Sun Pharmaceutical Industries) at ₹4.55 lakh crore. Overall, 230 families on the list are now valued at $1 billion or more, highlighting the rapid expansion and institutionalization of family-led enterprise wealth across India.
