Pakistan received a record $41.6 billion in remittances from overseas workers during the financial year 2025-26, setting a new annual high and exceeding the country’s total export earnings for the same period.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, remittance inflows for FY26, which ended on June 30, increased by 8.6% compared to $38.3 billion received in FY25.
Describing the achievement as the country’s highest-ever annual remittance inflow, Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said the figure marked a historic milestone for Pakistan’s economy.
In June, Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, contributing $829.6 million, followed closely by the United Arab Emirates with $792.3 million.
Other major contributors included the United Kingdom, which sent $514.9 million, and the United States, which accounted for $296.8 million. Among other countries, Italy contributed $121.1 million, while Oman recorded remittances of $110.8 million.
Remittances continue to play a crucial role in Pakistan’s economy by supporting household incomes, strengthening foreign exchange reserves and helping offset external financing pressures.
