Adani Defence & Aerospace has begun construction of a ₹2,500 crore integrated missile and propellant manufacturing complex in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, positioning it as one of South Asia’s largest private-sector defence production facilities.

The foundation stone was laid in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and senior Adani Group leadership.
End-to-End Missile Production Under One Roof
The upcoming facility is designed to handle the full missile production chain, from raw material processing to the assembly of fully operational medium- and long-range missile systems.
Unlike conventional assembly units, the plant will also manufacture key inputs such as composite propellants, TNT, and other explosive-grade materials, making it a fully integrated defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Major Investment and Job Creation
The project involves an investment of ₹2,500 crore and is expected to be completed within three years. Once operational, it is projected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, significantly boosting employment in the region.
MSME Integration and Strategic Location
More than 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises will be part of the supply chain supporting the facility, creating a wider defence manufacturing cluster.
The plant is being developed on a 103-acre site near Pali village in the Kolaras region, strategically located along the Kota Highway and Mumbai–Gwalior Highway, ensuring strong connectivity for industrial logistics.
Part of a Larger Defence Ecosystem
The Shivpuri complex complements Adani’s existing small arms facility in Gwalior, which recently supplied 2,000 indigenously manufactured Prahar light machine guns to the Indian Armed Forces ahead of schedule. Together, these projects are shaping a growing defence manufacturing corridor in the Gwalior–Chambal region.
Leadership Remarks and Vision
Speaking at the foundation ceremony, Jeet Adani, who oversees multiple Adani Group verticals, described the project as a landmark moment for India’s defence manufacturing sector, highlighting that it brings raw materials and missile systems under a single integrated facility.
He credited Madhya Pradesh’s industrial growth to strong policy support from the state leadership and the central government, calling the region one of India’s fastest-growing industrial hubs.
Boost to Indigenous Defence Capability
The integrated facility is expected to reduce India’s reliance on imported defence systems by producing critical missile components and finished systems domestically.
By attracting over 50 MSMEs into its supply chain, the project is also expected to build a strong local defence manufacturing ecosystem around Shivpuri, strengthening India’s long-term strategic and industrial capabilities.
