Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has confirmed that it will launch the VF 3, its smallest electric vehicle, in India by late 2026. Designed as a compact, city-friendly electric SUV, the VF 3 is expected to cater to urban commuters looking for an affordable and practical EV.

The VF 3 features a distinctive boxy SUV-inspired design with a compact footprint, making it well-suited for congested city roads. Globally, the vehicle is equipped with an 18.6 kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted electric motor, offering a claimed driving range of around 210 km on a single charge. It also provides seating for four passengers in a minimalist cabin.
The model will join VinFast’s expanding India lineup, which includes the VF 6, VF 7 and the Limo Green electric MPV. The company is strengthening its presence through its manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, and aims to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem covering production, sales and after-sales support.
With the launch of the VF 3, VinFast is targeting first-time EV buyers and urban motorists seeking an accessible electric mobility option. The company expects the compact EV to play a key role in its India growth strategy as competition intensifies in the affordable electric vehicle segment.
