Electric vehicle company Tesla has shown interest in setting up a sales and service centre in Hyderabad, according to the Telangana government.

During a meeting with Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, Tesla India representatives discussed plans to begin operations in the city. The state’s Information and Public Relations department confirmed that Tesla is preparing to establish a sales and service facility in Hyderabad.
The minister said Telangana already has a strong ecosystem for electric vehicles and smart mobility systems, supported by advanced technology industries.
He added that the state has become a major hub for semiconductor design, automotive software, electronics engineering, and deep-tech sectors.
The minister also welcomed Tesla’s decision to consider Hyderabad as its next location for expansion in India, especially after the company opened showrooms in other parts of the country.
He invited Tesla to explore opportunities for developing related supplier and ancillary industries in Telangana and assured full government support for future investments in technology and manufacturing sectors.
