The release of Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan seems close, with reports suggesting it may hit theatres within the next two weeks.

The film, directed by H. Vinoth and starring Vijay in the lead role, has faced months of uncertainty over its release date due to delays in the certification process. The theatrical release had been on hold while approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was still pending.
Producer Venkat K Narayana, speaking to reporters in Chennai on May 10, said the film is now in the final stages of clearance and is expected to be released within 14 days. He added that discussions with the CBFC are ongoing.
The film has attracted attention not only because of its star cast but also due to delays and an online leak controversy that surfaced last month. The ensemble includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Venkat K Narayana also praised Vijay’s discipline and reliability, calling him someone who keeps his commitments. He said the film’s title, Jana Nayagan, reflects a leadership image connected with ordinary people and hinted at Vijay’s growing political presence in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Vijay has also entered active politics and recently took oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after securing support from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Indian Union Muslim League, which helped him reach a total strength of 120 MLAs, above the majority mark.
His political rise has drawn reactions from several public figures. Kamal Haasan congratulated him and wished success for Tamil Nadu under his leadership. Actor Vivek Oberoi praised his journey from cinema to politics, calling it historic. Pawan Kalyan and R. Madhavan also extended their congratulations.
