Demand for induction cooktops has surged across India as concerns grow over LPG availability. E-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart have reported a sharp spike in orders for electric cooking appliances over the past few days.

According to industry reports, Flipkart has seen induction cooktop sales rise nearly fourfold in the past four to five days. Amazon has also recorded a significant jump, with sales in some cases increasing up to 20 times compared with normal daily volumes.

Quick-commerce platforms including Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart have also witnessed strong demand, with several induction cooktop models going out of stock.

Retailers say the surge is being driven by consumer concerns over LPG supply disruptions and rising cylinder prices, prompting many households to look for alternative cooking options.

Apart from induction cooktops, sales of other electric appliances such as electric kettles and rice cookers have also increased. Experts believe demand for such appliances may remain strong until LPG supply stabilizes.
