Kochi Metro Rail Limited has named Johnson Lifts Private Limited as the lowest bidder for supplying elevators for Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro.

KMRL had floated the tender with a completion window of 730 days. Technical bids were opened on September 29, 2025, confirming that two companies were in the race. Their technical evaluation wrapped up on November 27, and on the same day the financial bids were opened. Johnson Lifts emerged with the lowest quote and later received the Letter of Acceptance from Maha-Metro.

• Otis Elevator Company (India) Limited – ₹19.7 crore
The job covers the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of heavy-duty, machine-room-less elevators for Kochi Metro Phase 2.
Phase 2 includes a single corridor, the Pink Line, stretching 11.2 km from JLN Stadium to Infopark with 11 stations along the route.
KMRL had also recently declared Schindler India Private Limited as the lowest bidder for the escalator package of the same phase.
