Adani Group has moved into the pilot-training business by agreeing to buy a 72.8 percent stake in Flight Simulation Technique Centre for about Rs 820 crore. FSTC runs a network of full-flight simulators, training aircraft and pilot-training programs that range from basic licences to type ratings and specialised skills. Its main training hubs are in Gurugram and Hyderabad, along with flying schools in Bhiwani and Narnaul.

Adani Acquires FSTC Pilot Training

The deal is being executed through Adani Defence Systems and Technologies and Horizon Aero Solutions. Horizon is jointly owned by Adani Defence and Prime Aero Services. Both companies have signed share-purchase agreements with FSTC’s parent entity and existing shareholders to secure the controlling stake.

Adani already has a foothold in airports and aircraft maintenance, so this acquisition adds another piece to its aviation ecosystem. The company expects a surge in demand for trained pilots as Indian airlines bring in more than 1,500 new aircraft in the coming years. There’s also a growing need for advanced simulation and mission-rehearsal training on the defence side.

Ashish Rajvanshi, who heads Adani Defence and Aerospace, said the goal is to build a unified aviation services platform. With FSTC joining Air Works and Indamer Technics, the group aims to cover everything from civil and general-aviation maintenance to defence MRO and full-scale pilot training.
