British aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce has signed an agreement with Bharat Forge Ltd to manufacture and supply fan blades for its Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. These fan blades, used in high-performance turbofan engines for business jets such as Bombardier Global 5500/6500, Gulfstream G700/G800, and Dassault Falcon 10X, will now be produced in India.

Strengthening Local Manufacturing and Partnerships

The deal marks a milestone in Rolls-Royce’s strategy to build in-country capabilities and strengthen strategic local partnerships. It also aligns with the company’s goal to double supply chain sourcing from India by 2030. The contract was signed at Rolls-Royce’s Dahlewitz facility near Berlin, underlining Bharat Forge’s reputation as a trusted global supplier of precision aerospace components.

Leadership on the Partnership

Sashi Mukundan, Executive Vice President (Transformation) at Rolls-Royce India, said, “Rolls-Royce is delighted to deepen its partnership with Bharat Forge towards advancing the ‘Make in India’ vision. This new contract reflects our commitment to developing world-class manufacturing capabilities in India, with a shared vision of delivering state-of-the-art aerospace components to the global supply chain ecosystem.”

Amit Kalyani, Vice-Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, added, “This expanded partnership with Rolls-Royce reflects our shared commitment to engineering excellence and long-term collaboration. We are proud to support the Pearl engine family, which represents the future of high-performance aviation.”

Expanding Collaboration on Next-Generation Engines

Rolls-Royce began working with Bharat Forge in 2020, sourcing parts for the Pearl 700 programme. Over the years, Bharat Forge has achieved class-leading quality and delivery performance, producing its first zero-defect fan blade in 2024. The new agreement extends this collaboration to the Pearl 10X engine, expanding Bharat Forge’s role in supporting next-generation propulsion systems.

About the Pearl 10X Engine

The Pearl 10X is the newest and most powerful engine in Rolls-Royce’s Pearl family, powering some of the fastest, longest-range business jets. It features the Advance2 engine core, the most efficient across the business aviation sector, paired with a high-performance low-pressure system, delivering thrust exceeding 18,000lb.

Rolls-Royce in India

Rolls-Royce has a 90-year legacy in India, and this expanded partnership with Bharat Forge reinforces its commitment to local manufacturing, innovation, and global aerospace supply chain excellence.
