Trump aide and far-right activist Laura Loomer has claimed that US President Donald Trump is considering blocking American companies from outsourcing work to Indian IT firms.

In a post on X, Loomer wrote, “President Trump is now considering blocking US IT companies from outsourcing their work to Indian companies. In other words, you don’t need to press 2 for English anymore. Make Call Centers American Again!”

She later added, “I am so excited for President Trump to end the days of pressing 2 for English to speak with someone who doesn’t speak English. Very nice.”

Push for Outsourcing Restrictions

Loomer’s comments come amid renewed calls from US conservatives to tighten outsourcing rules. Right-wing commentator Jack Posobiec recently suggested tariffs on countries that provide remote workers for US businesses. His proposal reportedly received support from Trump’s trade advisor Peter Navarro.

Uncertainty for Indian IT Sector

It is unclear whether the Trump administration intends to directly restrict outsourcing to Indian firms such as TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, or explore tariffs on foreign service providers.

Trade Tensions Continue

The development comes against the backdrop of ongoing trade frictions between India and the US. Washington earlier imposed 50 percent tariffs on India over Russian oil imports. Despite cordial exchanges between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, key issues remain unresolved.
