Amazon has entered the fast delivery market in New Delhi, promising to deliver items in just 10 minutes. This quick delivery service, called “Now,” was first launched in Bengaluru. Delhi is now the second city in India to get this service.
With this move, Amazon is now directly competing with other companies that already offer super-fast deliveries. These include Blinkit (owned by Zomato), Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto. These companies have become popular in big cities because they can bring groceries, snacks, medicines, and other daily items to your doorstep in a matter of minutes. In such a busy lifestyle, fast delivery is becoming more important to Indian customers, especially in urban areas.

Amazon said in a statement that it is happy with the feedback received from customers in Bengaluru. Because of the good response, the company is now starting to expand this service to more areas, starting with Delhi.
Quick commerce, or Q-commerce, is growing fast in India. It began with grocery delivery but now includes a wide range of products like small gadgets, toiletries, and even school supplies. Companies like Blinkit and Zepto use dark stores (small storage units close to residential areas) and local delivery networks to make deliveries faster.
Earlier, Amazon was mostly known for offering one-day or two-day deliveries. But as quick delivery becomes more popular, especially among younger people and busy workers, Amazon is trying to keep up by offering deliveries in 10 to 15 minutes.
India is an important market for Amazon. Since 2013, the company has invested over $11 billion in the country. Just last month, Amazon said it would invest another ₹1,943 crore (around $233 million) to improve its delivery network and build more infrastructure. The company also opened five new fulfillment centers to make deliveries faster, even in smaller towns and cities.
Amazon’s rival Flipkart has also started its own quick delivery service called “Flipkart Minutes.” This service is now available in 14 Indian cities and focuses on delivering household items, personal care products, and small electronics.
At the same time, companies like Zepto and Blinkit are still focusing on large cities with high demand. They continue to open more dark stores to improve their delivery times and reach more customers.
Quick delivery is becoming a big trend, and Amazon’s entry into the space shows how important fast service has become in India’s online shopping world.
