Swiggy has launched a new budget-friendly service called the ₹99 Store, offering single-serve meals at a flat price of ₹99. The service targets cost-conscious consumers, particularly Gen Z users such as students and young professionals, who frequently rely on food delivery. The offering is now available across more than 175 cities, including major urban hubs like Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
Free Delivery with Eco Saver Mode
All orders under this initiative will come with free delivery when placed using the platform’s Eco Saver delivery mode. This helps maintain service reliability while keeping overall costs low for both consumers and restaurant partners.

Variety Without Compromise
Despite the lower price point, users can choose from a wide selection of dishes across cuisines such as biryani, rolls, noodles, North and South Indian meals, burgers, pizzas, and cakes. Swiggy emphasizes that affordability will not limit options or taste.
Swiggy’s CEO Highlights Promise of Quality
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, stated, “At ₹99, this isn’t just a price point—it’s a promise. We’ve worked closely with restaurant partners and our delivery fleet to make everyday meals more affordable without cutting corners.”
Gen Z in Focus
The ₹99 Store is specifically tailored for Gen Z consumers, including college students and entry-level professionals, who seek convenient food options that fit within tight budgets. The initiative aims to make regular food delivery more accessible.
Competition Heats Up as Rapido Enters Food Delivery
Swiggy’s announcement comes just ahead of Rapido’s entry into the food delivery market. Rapido is set to disrupt the space with a zero-commission model, charging restaurants a fixed fee rather than a percentage cut. Their structure includes ₹25 for orders under ₹400 and ₹50 for those above, with no packaging charges and price parity between dine-in and delivery.
Shift Towards Value-Focused Food Delivery
Both Swiggy and Rapido are pushing value-driven models, indicating a shift in India’s food delivery space. While Swiggy focuses on affordable meals, Rapido aims to reduce costs for restaurants. This dual approach could reshape how consumers and eateries experience online food ordering.
