Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited, announced contributions totaling ₹18 crore for temple infrastructure and animal welfare initiatives in Kerala. This includes ₹6 crore for the Rajrajeshwaram and Guruvayur temples, and ₹12 crore toward restoring the historic East Gopuram at Rajrajeshwaram, as well as supporting the care of temple elephants at Guruvayur, according to ANI.
During his visit to Rajrajeshwaram Temple in Taliparamba on 2 April, Anant Ambani made traditional offerings including Ponnumkudam, Pattam, Thaali, Neyyamrutu, and performed Ashwamedha Namaskaram. He also handed over a cheque of ₹3 crore toward ongoing renovation efforts. The East Gopuram, which has stood in disrepair for over two centuries, will be restored with part of his ₹12 crore commitment, alongside upgrades to parking and other facilities to improve the pilgrim experience.

He was received with traditional honours by temple authorities, including TTK Devaswom President TP Vinod Kumar, Executive Officer KP Vinayan, Chief Priest EP Kuberan Namboothiri, and members of the Devaswom Board.
Earlier, Anant Ambani visited Guruvayur Temple, offered prayers to Lord Guruvayurappan, and donated ₹3 crore to the temple trust. In line with his commitment to animal welfare through Vantara, he pledged support for temple elephants, including plans for a dedicated elephant hospital, chain-free shelter, and modern infrastructure to ensure humane and scientific care. At Guruvayur, he was welcomed by Devaswom Chairman AV Gopinath and other officials, and honoured with traditional mementos and prasadam.
Speaking on the occasion, Anant Ambani emphasized the broader spiritual and cultural significance of these initiatives, stating that India’s temples are living institutions that nurture faith, community, compassion, and a connection with nature. He highlighted that these efforts aim to enhance the experience of devotees while ensuring the welfare of animals that are integral to temple traditions.
His contributions reflect a vision rooted in India’s spiritual ethos, combining faith, service, compassion, and harmony with nature. By supporting temple infrastructure, restoring sacred heritage, improving pilgrim facilities, and advancing animal welfare, these initiatives seek to preserve and strengthen the traditions that form the foundation of India’s civilizational heritage.
