The Karnataka government has sanctioned an extra ₹10 crore for the rehabilitation of families affected by the landslide in Meppadi, Wayanad district. This allocation is part of the third and final instalment of the supplementary estimates for 2025-26, presented in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Monday, March 23. The total of the supplementary estimates now stands at ₹14,767.89 crore.

Legal Expenses Covered
The supplementary estimates also include provisions for legal fees. An additional ₹20 lakh has been earmarked as remuneration for Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal for representing the Karnataka government in the Supreme Court in Writ Petition No. 210/2024. Another ₹40 lakh has been allocated for his appearance in SLP (Civil) No. 8832/2025 on behalf of the State government.
International Engagement Funding
The estimates provide ₹10 crore to cover expenses for Karnataka government delegates attending the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos-Kloster, Switzerland.
Outstanding Bills for State Events
A total of ₹16.3 crore has been set aside to clear pending payments for the Chief Minister’s convention held for beneficiaries of various government schemes in Haveri, Vijayanagar, and Hassan districts.
