Genrobotics Innovation, India’s first physical AI company specializing in sanitation and medical solutions, has won a contract from Singapore’s Public Utility Board (PUB) to deploy 44 advanced robots for upgrading the nation’s water infrastructure.

Vimal Govindan MK, CEO of Genrobotics, told TNIE, “The company will deploy these robots in Singapore over the next two financial years, charging nearly ₹2 to 2.5 crore per project. Implementation will be completed within 18 months.” The total contract value is around ₹80 crore, secured after an 18-month evaluation process involving over 600 global competitors.
Advanced Robotics for Hazardous Environments
The company will deploy Wilboar, an advanced robotic rover designed to clean hazardous and confined spaces such as sewer wells, stormwater drains, and industrial tanks. Govindan said, “This is a long-term contract. We will first implement our pilot, then scale up with unique features added to the robots. This marks the first phase of deployment.”
The CEO also shared ambitious growth plans, stating that the company aims to go for an IPO by FY28 or FY29 and become a ₹500 crore organization within two years. Genrobotics expects a 30% revenue growth this year, following ₹32 crore in FY25.
Global Edge Through Technology and Patents
Govindan highlighted Genrobotics’ competitive advantage: “While there are companies in the sanitation robotics segment, few operate at our scale. The integration of robotics with AI and our intellectual property is critical. Globally, very few possess such advanced robotic technology, which is why we secured this contract.”
The company currently holds 14 patents and is planning to expand into the defense sector with semi-humanoid robots capable of heavy lifting, inventory movement, and weapon handling, enhancing automation for armed forces.
Expansion and Manufacturing Capabilities
Genrobotics also plans to deploy robots for post-construction sewage tasks like painting and coating in partnership with a private Singaporean company. The company operates two manufacturing plants: one in Thiruvananthapuram (10,000 sq m) with an R&D facility employing about 100 people, including some from ISRO, and another in Palakkad’s Kanjikode (50,000 sq m) capable of producing 100 robots. The company employs around 300 people overall. This contract positions Genrobotics as a leader in advanced AI-powered robotics, strengthening India’s presence in global industrial and sanitation technology markets.
