Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. has been selected as the lowest bidder for a Kochi Metro Phase 2 contract to install ballastless tracks on the elevated section between Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station and Infopark Metro Station. The company offered ₹130.2 crore for the project.

The contract, under Tender No. KMRL/PROC/TENDER/2025-26/038, covers the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of standard gauge ballastless track along the elevated corridor, spanning from chainage +60.000m to 10640.000m. The work is scheduled to be completed within 16 months from the date of the award.
Other bidders included KEC International Ltd. at ₹138.1 crore, Aapurvakriti Infrastructure Pvt Ltd at ₹139.2 crore, and Rahee Infratech Ltd. at ₹152.4 crore. Kochi Metro had estimated the project at ₹127.91 crore, so Texmaco’s bid is slightly above the estimate but remains the most competitive, making it the likely awardee.
Phase 2 of Kochi Metro extends 11.2 km, connecting Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station to Infopark Campus in Kakkanad, covering 11 stations. Civil works for this extension are reported to be nearly halfway completed, progressing steadily toward project completion.
