Uttar Pradesh signs a Rs 4,458 crore MoU with AISATS to develop an integrated cargo campus and a modern air catering facility at Noida International Airport in Jewar, a move that will strengthen northern India’s aviation and logistics infrastructure, enhance trade efficiency across key sectors including electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture, create significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, and position the airport as a major hub for regional and international connectivity while supporting the state’s broader economic growth and investment objectives.

The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) for an investment of Rs 4,458 crore at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. The agreement was formalized during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore as part of efforts to attract global investment to the state.

Major Facilities Planned at Jewar Airport

Under the MoU, AISATS will develop two major facilities at the airport: an integrated cargo campus and a modern air catering unit. These projects are part of a broader strategy to strengthen aviation-linked services in Uttar Pradesh.

The integrated cargo campus is expected to position Jewar as a major air freight and logistics hub for northern India, facilitating import and export activities across key sectors such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products. The development will leverage the airport’s planned multi-modal connectivity to boost international trade, supporting efficient cargo movement once the airport becomes operational.

Officials noted that the cargo campus will enhance north India’s logistics capacity, centralize air freight handling, and support businesses engaged in domestic and international trade. The project aims to meet growing export demand and improve operational readiness for the aviation and logistics sectors.

Air Catering Unit to Serve Regional Airports

AISATS will also establish a world-class air catering unit at Jewar, which will supply in-flight meals for flights operating from the airport. The facility will also serve multiple airports across northern India, helping strengthen the regional food processing and supply chain ecosystem.

The project is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment in aviation support services and allied sectors, contributing to both economic growth and skill development in the region.

Economic Impact and Strategic Significance

The MoU with AISATS is considered a major step forward for Uttar Pradesh’s aviation, logistics, and services sectors. The agreement represents a significant private-sector commitment aligned with the state’s infrastructure expansion plans.

Once operational, Noida International Airport will enhance north India’s economic landscape by improving connectivity, increasing trade efficiency, and driving growth in the service sector. The investment also underscores Uttar Pradesh’s focus on attracting global capital and strengthening its position as a key hub for aviation and logistics.
