Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Emmanuel Macron at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai, marking a key moment in the French President’s three-day official visit to India. The meeting focused on strengthening India–France strategic ties, with discussions expected to cover technology, artificial intelligence, defence cooperation and global partnerships.
President Macron arrived in Mumbai on Monday night, accompanied by First Lady Brigitte Macron. He landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, where he was received by Devendra Fadnavis and Acharya Devvrat.

The visit highlights the deepening relationship between India and France, two major democratic nations that have steadily expanded cooperation across multiple sectors. Officials said the discussions are expected to further strengthen collaboration in defence, innovation, digital transformation and economic engagement.
Artificial intelligence is also a key focus of the visit, with both countries looking to expand partnerships in emerging technologies and digital development. The leaders are expected to explore new avenues of cooperation that support technological progress and global innovation.
Following engagements in Mumbai, President Macron will travel to New Delhi for further official meetings and events as part of his India visit.
