FMCG giant Dabur India Ltd has launched the ground-breaking ceremony for its first manufacturing facility in South India, a Rs 400-crore plant in Tindivanam, Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu. The new factory will produce Dabur’s range of toothpastes including ‘Dabur Red’ and ‘Meswak,’ as well as personal care products like Dabur Gulabari, Vatika Hair Oil, and Anmol Hair Oil.

The facility is expected to generate over 250 direct jobs and create thousands of indirect employment opportunities. The ceremony on February 12 was attended virtually by Chief Minister M K Stalin, along with Industries Minister TRB Rajaa and Arun Roy, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department.
Commenting on the occasion, Dabur India CEO Mohit Malhotra said the plant would enhance supply resilience and put ‘Made in Tamil Nadu’ at the core of the company’s southern growth. He highlighted that the facility will enable faster, greener manufacturing closer to consumers, allowing Dabur to serve South India with improved speed and freshness.
The production line will also scale to include products like Real Juices and Amla Hair Oil, positioning Tindivanam as a crucial hub in Dabur’s manufacturing network. Dabur’s Global Operations Head, Saurabh Lal, said the plant reflects the company’s vision for responsible, future-ready manufacturing, featuring state-of-the-art technology, fully renewable energy operations, and an inclusive workforce with a majority of women employees.
The Tindivanam facility is set to become a key pillar of Dabur’s southern manufacturing network, supporting scale, efficiency, and sustainability in the region.
