Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL), part of the Reliance Industries Group, announced on 10 February 2026 that it has acquired Southern Health Foods, the parent company of the popular Tamil Nadu brand Manna. This move strengthens RCPL’s food and staples lineup, which already includes Udayam, Independence, and SIL, while boosting its presence in the growing market for millet-based and health-focused foods. Reliance noted that Manna has been a leading producer of health-oriented food products for over 20 years, with a strong footprint in Tamil Nadu and neighboring states.

The acquisition comes as Indian consumers increasingly favor nutritious and health-conscious diets, fueling growth in areas like millet, multigrain staples, and functional foods. By adding Manna to its portfolio, RCPL is expanding its ability to meet rising demand for affordable, health-focused packaged foods. The company said this step aligns with its goal of providing high-quality products at accessible prices while building a strong nationwide presence in the health and nutrition sector.
T. Krishnakumar, Director of RCPL, said that Manna is one of Tamil Nadu’s most trusted health-focused brands, known for millet-based staples, beverages, and baby food products. He added that the acquisition will enhance RCPL’s packaged food offerings and provide more nutritious options for consumers.
Krishnakumar also highlighted that RCPL’s distribution network, research and development, and supply chain capabilities will help Manna expand beyond its current markets, potentially becoming a household name across India. Southern Health Foods produces a variety of health-centric items, including millets, oats, multigrain products, health mixes, breakfast cereals, and dried fruits. Manna has built a strong presence in emerging packaged categories such as millet flour, infant food, and multigrain mixes.
