Apple is strengthening its presence in India’s supply chain by investing in advanced manufacturing, technology, and workforce development, including launching the first Education Hub in Bengaluru in partnership with Manipal Academy of Higher Education, offering over 100 courses by 2026 to empower supplier employees with skills in automation, coding, digital literacy, leadership, and vocational training for inclusive growth.

Apple is highlighting India’s growing importance in its global supply chain, citing the country’s deep talent pool, improving capabilities, and long-term investments in supplier development. As the company expands both production and skilling initiatives, India is emerging as a central hub in Apple’s manufacturing strategy.

Sarah Chandler, Apple’s Vice President of Environment and Supply Chain Innovation, told Moneycontrol that Apple is launching its first Education Hub in Bengaluru in partnership with Manipal Academy of Higher Education. By 2026, the program will offer over 100 courses across more than 25 supplier sites, covering advanced manufacturing, automation, coding, digital literacy, and leadership training. Apple sees skills development as a core part of its India growth strategy and long-term manufacturing footprint.

Chandler emphasized that investing in people is critical to creating the best products. Apple is focused on empowering supplier employees in India by giving them access to high-quality education and professional development, which she described as transformative for both personal and professional growth. The initiative also includes vocational programs for persons with disabilities, reflecting Apple’s commitment to inclusive workforce development.

Apple’s programs in India build on global lessons from similar hubs in the U.S., China, and Vietnam. The company tailors initiatives to local needs and communities while sharing best practices globally. Chandler noted that expanding access to education and training helps workers realize their potential and strengthens India’s role in Apple’s supply chain.

The Education Hub uses a “train-the-trainer” model, enabling suppliers to bring learning back to their facilities. Apple aims to ensure as many workers as possible benefit from professional development programs, reinforcing skills, well-being, and long-term growth while supporting India’s rising manufacturing prominence.
