LuLu Group India has unveiled a significant expansion plan, aiming to strengthen its retail and food processing presence across the country. The growth strategy includes developing shopping malls and logistics centres in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, alongside launching new hypermarkets in Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to India’s retail sector.

As part of this initiative, Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for multiple projects in the state. The plan features a mega shopping mall in Visakhapatnam, a food sourcing and export centre in Vijayawada, and a food-processing logistics and export hub in Rayalaseema.
The MoU was formalized during the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam in November 2025. Yusuffali said construction of the Visakhapatnam mall will start soon, marking one of the largest retail projects in Andhra Pradesh. The mall, expected to open in three years, is projected to create 5,000 direct jobs and 12,000 indirect employment opportunities.
In Vijayawada, LuLu plans a food processing and export centre that will handle products such as mango pulp, guava pulp, and processed spices under the LuLu brand. This hub is part of a broader effort to support local farmers, expand market access, and produce more value-added products. A complementary food-processing logistics and export centre is also planned for Rayalaseema.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the investments, noting that the Visakhapatnam mall would be the “Navaratna” among LuLu’s projects in India and would significantly contribute to the state’s development agenda. In Gujarat, LuLu has earmarked Chandkheda in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency for a new shopping mall.
In Tamil Nadu, two LuLu hypermarkets in Chennai are expected to be operational by mid-2026. Additional hypermarkets and express stores are also planned in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Noida, and Gurugram, expanding the company’s footprint across multiple states.
