The Adani Group and the Maharashtra government have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for projects worth Rs 6 lakh crore at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday.

The agreements cover multiple sectors, including data centres, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, semiconductor and display fabrication units, and arena development, with investments planned over the next 7–10 years.
Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), praised the state for its business-friendly environment. “Maharashtra offers ease of doing business and is very welcoming to large-scale projects, which naturally attracts major corporations,” he said.
He added, “As a group, we are committing Rs 6 lakh crore, or over $60 billion, across diverse sectors such as data centres, integrated townships, renewable energy, and coal gasification. Together, these initiatives form a comprehensive development plan.”
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who highlighted the significant inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the state. He also emphasized that the projects would create numerous jobs, particularly in sectors like coal gasification, which generate employment on a large scale.
Pranav Adani expressed confidence in India’s digital growth, noting, “The global focus is on India’s data centre sector. Many international companies are eager to establish a base here.”
He added, “India is rapidly becoming a global hub for data centres. The growing use of the internet and digital services has increased the demand for data storage. Combined with a strong economy and business-friendly environment, India is attracting significant foreign investment.”
