The latest development from Man of Steel is the fourth generation cremation machine called Chitagni which the team has been refining for over seven years. Since its release about a month and a half ago this machine has shown remarkable improvements in efficiency compared with earlier versions. While the first generation machine took around two and a half hours to complete a cremation subsequent models reduced the time progressively. The second generation completed it in ninety minutes the third in forty five minutes and now the fourth generation completes the process in just thirty five minutes.
Chitagni is built entirely with imported metals and its burner system is designed in Germany. The machine operates fully on gas producing minimal ash and no pollution which makes it environmentally safe. Unlike traditional methods that require cutting splitting or partially immersing bodies into rivers Chitagni burns the entire body efficiently leaving only fifty to one hundred grams of ash. There is no need to fell trees and it eliminates water and soil pollution. Its compact and mobile design allows it to be used in homes villages or by organizations across India without leaving any marks or residue.

The project originated from a philosophical and cultural idea shared by a spiritual guide in Uttar Pradesh emphasizing that just as birth is celebrated death should also be honored. Biju Poulose founder of Man of Steel Pvt Ltd led the team with this guiding principle seeking to provide a dignified sustainable and eco friendly alternative for funerary practices.
Over the years the team experimented with several prototypes to reduce gas consumption and improve efficiency. The first machine used about forty kilograms of gas and took two and a half hours the next version fifteen kilograms in one hour then ten kilograms in forty five minutes and finally the latest model completes cremation in thirty five minutes. The fast clean process makes it feasible for municipalities panchayats and organizations to meet their requirements without delays with delivery of new machines possible within forty five to sixty days.
Chitagni is part of the Dignity of Death initiative by Man of Steel emphasizing a respectful farewell while being eco conscious. Under Biju Poulose’s leadership the machine’s design efficiency and mobility aim to set a new standard for funeral practices balancing tradition with modern technology and environmental responsibility.
