Ola Electric has formally expanded beyond its core electric vehicle business with the launch of Ola Shakti, a residential Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designed to meet home and small-business power needs. The product, rolled out from the company’s Gigafactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, represents Ola’s entry into India’s fast-growing energy storage market.
Powered by the company’s indigenous 4680 Bharat cell technology, Ola Shakti aims to provide reliable, scalable backup power and intelligent energy management for households and enterprises. The system can be configured in multiple capacities to suit different usage requirements, making it suitable for powering appliances and essential loads during grid outages.

Ola’s move into the home energy segment reflects its broader strategy to leverage battery and manufacturing expertise developed for EVs into stationary energy storage solutions, addressing demand for clean, efficient and locally produced energy infrastructure.
The launch underscores Ola Electric’s ambitions to diversify its product offerings, build new revenue streams and support India’s transition to sustainable energy systems across consumer and commercial sectors.
