Uber on January 6, 2026, released data highlighting how Indians used the ride-hailing platform throughout 2025. Across the year, users travelled over 11.6 billion kilometers, a 26.5% increase compared to 2024. Of this, 365 million kilometers were completed using electric vehicles.

Top Cities for Uber Trips
The cities with the highest Uber usage last year were Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune.
Meanwhile, Kochi Uber users earned the highest ratings in India, with an average score of 4.91 out of 5. Nearly 98.3% of riders in Kochi received five-star ratings from drivers. Thiruvananthapuram followed with an average rating of 4.87, while Pune and Chandigarh also ranked among the top cities for highly rated riders. The national average rating stood at 4.76 stars.
Patterns in Ride Bookings
Uber trips were most frequently booked at 6:00 PM, with Friday emerging as the most popular day of the week. November was the busiest month, and December 12 recorded the highest number of trips on a single day.
For Uber Rentals, the 2-hour package was the most popular. Mumbai and Kolkata saw the highest share of late-night trips, while Mumbai, Guwahati, and Chennai led in weekend travel as a proportion of total trips. Bhubaneswar and Thiruvananthapuram recorded the largest share of office-hour trips.
Popular Tourist and Intercity Destinations
Among intercity rides, Agra, Mysore, Puri, and Lonavala were the most frequented tourist destinations via Uber.
Uber Black and Specialized Services
Uber Black users logged over 34 million kilometers, primarily in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, with airport and work travel being the top use cases.
Uber Courier deliveries peaked between 1 PM and 3 PM, with around 3 million first-time users trying the service in 2025. One particularly active user completed 5,218 deliveries over the year.
Other specialized services also saw strong growth:
- Uber Shuttle welcomed nearly 800,000 first-time users for app-based bus travel.
- Uber Pet recorded close to 800,000 kilometers traveled in 2025.
