At the top of the list is biryani with 93 million orders. This aromatic rice dish, slow cooked with marinated meat or vegetables, layered with spices, and finished with fried onions and saffron water, is best enjoyed with salan and raita. Burgers follow with 44.2 million orders, the classic sandwich with a cooked patty, vegetarian or meat, and fresh toppings and sauces. Pizzas come next with 40.1 million orders, a baked Italian favorite topped with cheese, sauce, and a variety of toppings, with healthier wheat or multigrain bases becoming popular.
South Indian staples feature prominently with veg dosa at 26.2 million orders, a fermented crepe stuffed with spiced potatoes served with sambar and chutney, and idli with 11 million orders, steamed rice and dal cakes often paired with sambar and coconut chutney. Sweet treats also captured attention with white chocolate cake at 6.9 million orders, offering creamy indulgence, and gulab jamun with 4.5 million orders, the deep fried milk solid spheres soaked in rose and saffron scented syrup.
Snack favorites made the list as well, including chicken roll at 4.1 million orders, flatbreads stuffed with spiced chicken and sauces, chicken nuggets at 2.9 million orders, bite sized fried or baked chicken pieces, and medu vada, the deep fried South Indian lentil donut that is crisp outside and fluffy inside, a festive and breakfast favorite.
