C.K. Kumaravel, Co-founder & CMD of Naturals Salon, shared his perspective on empowering women entrepreneurs. He emphasized that women already possess talent and potential, but societal conditioning often limits them. With guidance, confidence, and clarity, women can take the lead, not only achieving financial independence but also holding power in society, which benefits the country as a whole.
Influence of Family and Courage
Kumaravel highlighted the role of courage in leadership, inspired by his mother’s example. He noted that success is not determined solely by talent or intelligence but by courage and the willingness to take risks, citing Dhirubhai Ambani as an example.

The Naturals Franchise Model
Discussing the growth of Naturals Salon, Kumaravel explained that while his wife Veena is the founder, both co-create and manage the brand. The brand’s success is rooted in structured systems and processes, which allow individual franchisees to scale effectively. He stressed that passion for the beauty business is essential for franchise partners, along with willingness to be owner-managers, lead teams, and provide excellent customer service.
Franchise Selection Criteria
He outlined six key criteria for franchise partners:
- Passion for the beauty business (aligning with Ikigai principles)
- Willingness to invest time and effort
- Leadership and team management skills
- Customer care and PR abilities
- Ability to invest ₹40–50 lakh
- No prior knowledge of the beauty industry is required, as Naturals provides full training and guidance
Innovation and 2026 Plans
Kumaravel emphasized that ideas alone are not enough—execution is critical. Naturals plans to expand its franchise base, introduce innovative services such as nail art, lashes, premenopause facials, diabetic pedicures, and a kids’ segment called Little Naturals. He announced a new prepaid offer where customers pay ₹20,000 in installments and receive a ₹30,000 family card usable at any salon.
Global Expansion
Naturals is growing internationally, particularly in the Gulf market, with plans to establish 250 salons over the next two years across countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, serving communities with large Indian populations.
Acknowledgment of Franchise Partners
Kumaravel credited franchise partners and “smile providers” as essential executors of the brand’s vision, stressing that their dedication is what brings the ideas and plans to life.
