Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, emphasized that India’s manufacturing sector is in decline and called for the development of meaningful manufacturing ecosystems to boost economic growth.

Speaking on social media after a guided tour of BMW Welt and the BMW Plant in Munich, Germany, Gandhi highlighted the importance of manufacturing as the backbone of strong economies. He pointed to the TVS 450cc motorcycle, developed in collaboration with BMW, as an example of successful industrial partnerships.
“Had the chance to experience BMW’s world-class manufacturing up close in Munich. Sadly, in India, manufacturing is declining. To accelerate growth, we need to produce more, build meaningful manufacturing ecosystems, and create high-quality jobs at scale,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
Gandhi is in Germany at the invitation of the Progressive Alliance, a coalition of 117 progressive parties worldwide. During his visit, he will engage with the Indian diaspora and meet German government ministers.
