Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari has once again underlined the importance of transitioning to cleaner and more sustainable fuel alternatives. Demonstrating his commitment, the minister travelled in a hydrogen-powered car, showcasing its potential as a game-changing solution for India’s mobility future.

Gadkari emphasized that India must reduce its dependence on petrol and diesel, both to curb rising pollution levels and to cut down on costly fuel imports. He reiterated that hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, can play a transformative role in reshaping the country’s transport landscape, offering a zero-emission, high-efficiency alternative.
He also noted that embracing hydrogen and other clean fuels will open new opportunities for innovation, manufacturing, and green jobs, positioning India as a global leader in next-generation sustainable mobility technologies. As the government accelerates efforts to promote electric, biofuel, and hydrogen-based solutions, Gadkari’s demonstration serves as a strong signal of the direction India’s transportation future is headed.
