Kasargod is preparing to host the IEDC Summit 2025, one of Asia’s largest student events promoting youth entrepreneurship, organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The summit is part of KSUM’s flagship initiative through Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres (IEDCs), which foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students and academic communities across Kerala.

Scheduled for December 22 at LBS College of Engineering, the event will serve as a platform for students to showcase innovative ideas and transform them into viable startups. It will also allow academic institutions and young innovators to connect with industry professionals and experts.
The 2025 summit aims to boost student engagement in entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and social transformation by encouraging creative thinking and entrepreneurial mindsets. KSUM CEO Shri Anoop Ambika highlighted that the event will help shape the entrepreneurial future of Kerala.
Over 10,000 students and 1,000 faculty members from more than 550 educational institutions across the state are expected to participate. The summit will feature contributions from IEDC centres, startup founders, researchers, industry experts, and innovation leaders. Competitions, workshops, and interactive sessions will cover technology, medicine, business, arts, and literature, inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
Ahead of the event, a meeting chaired by District Collector Dr K. Inbasekaran IAS at the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) in Kasargod reviewed preparations. Dr Inbasekaran, who launched the IEDC Summit 2025 website, described the summit as a historic event for Kasargod, expected to energize the local entrepreneurial ecosystem and help students turn ideas into successful ventures.
Dr M Abdul Rahman, Director of the LBS Center for Science and Technology, noted that the event will guide new innovations and entrepreneurial efforts while strengthening student participation from both schools and colleges. CPCRI Director K Balachandra Hebbar emphasized that initiatives like the IEDC Summit foster entrepreneurial mindsets among youth and reinforce the foundation of India’s startup ecosystem.
