Rajnath Singh will meet Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov in New Delhi on December 4 during President Putin’s visit. The two will review ongoing military projects and look at new areas to work together. A key point on the table is the delivery schedule for the remaining S-400 systems India has ordered. India may also weigh the option of buying more S-400 units and even explore the S-500, which can take down ballistic missiles at long ranges.

Both sides are expected to talk about shipbuilding ties and the future of jointly developed weapons.
The ministers last met in Qingdao in June, where Russia promised timely S-400 deliveries. India has already received three systems, with the final two slated for 2026 and 2027. The S-400 has played a major role in recent Indian operations and is now officially known within the services as Sudarshan Chakra. An Indian company has been chosen to set up an MRO facility for the system.
Modi, speaking in Karnataka on Friday, said Mission Sudarshan Chakra aims to create a strong protective shield around vital national and industrial assets. He stressed that India’s defence posture will be decisive if challenged. He had earlier announced the mission as a ten-year effort to strengthen the country’s security framework.
